residential home security system

Vivint is refusing to cancel our home security even after I provided Official PCS orders and supporting documents that Vivint requested. In June 2008, my wife and I were greeted by a salesman, Trevor Moses Agent Reg: 32921 who worked for an home security company. Unfortunately we were mislead by his sales tactics and signed an agreement to have APX ALARM Currently VIVINT to secure our home. My wife mentioned that I am serving in the military and that we may leave for another AF assignment before our contract expires in 2013. Moses simply stated that all we have to do is call Vivint to cancel our home security services due to my Air Force obligations and that it would not be a problem. Just this past August 3+ yrs later, I was notified of a new assignment, in a different state. My wife made a call to Vivint to request assistance in terminating our home security due to my permanent change of station PCS. She was told that we have to fax a “NOTICE OF CANCELLATION” form that was provided and a copy of my official AF PCS orders w/ a date Report no later than date indicating when I will physically be on my new duty assignment. I wanted me and my family to get a started w/ our move to our new location. I scheduled to have my final outprocessing done on late AUG from my previous duty station. I didn’t want to get charged for the month of SEP since we were no longer going to live in our home so my wife called Vivint again to see what we can do to avoid getting billed for the month of SEP.

senior home alert systems

It's also quite smooth, and never suffered choppiness in my testing—despite the fact that the camera only operates on the 2. 4GHz band. When analyzing footage captured with an adjacent 1080p Logi Circle, which supports the 5GHz band, the SimpliCam's video quality was comparable. Sound captured is a bit muffled, but certainly audible, though the camera does not currently support two way audio. Night vision footage is clear and motion detection sensitivity can be adjusted in the app. Motion detection is based on heat signature so the camera can discern the difference between, say, a spinning fan, a small dog, and an actual moving person who's breaking in to your home. Recently added, Alexa voice control lets you arm your system or check on its status on Amazon Echo devices. Enabling the SimpliSafe Home Control skill in the Alexa app is simple, and commands like "Alexa, tell SimpliSafe I'm leaving" to arm the system in Away mode, "Alexa, tell SimpliSafe good night" to arm the system in Home mode, and "Alexa, ask SimpliSafe if my home is secure" to get system status worked well in testing. There was little lag between the voice command and the base station announcing status or changes in system modes. The Alexa integration only works with the new SimpliSafe hardware, and the system can't be disarmed via voice for obvious reasons. With the monthly Interactive Plan, you can use SimpliSafe's Online Dashboard or mobile app to control the system, including arming and disarming it.

personal alarms for seniors

All bushes should be trimmed so they do not cover windows and doors; preferably less than 3 feet tall. Trees should be trimmed up so burglars may not hide behind them. Trees should also be trimmed away from light sources. While wearing dark colors, walk out on your property with a friend at night. You should be able to describe the other person from about 100 feet away anywhere on your property. If there is a dark area adding light or painting surfaces with white or light paint will help illuminate the area. If it is time to paint your house consider using a light color. It helps reflect light and makes it hard to hide against the house without standing out. If you plan on heading out of town and will be away from your home for even a few days, be sure to let a trusted neighbor or friend know so they can tend to your home. Their duties may include picking up newspapers, mail or even turning on different lights inside of your home. Consider the opportunity of establishing a neighborhood watch through the Blue Springs Police Department Crime Prevention Unit.
